Background:
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The FBI and CIA are searching for a Sudanese air force pilot who reportedly has entered Canada and plans to hijack an airliner and fly it into the White House, it was reported Friday. Citing unnamed intelligence sources, The Washington Times said the pilot was trained in Afghanistan and is linked to Osama bin Laden's al Qaida terrorist network. Authorities know the name of the pilot, who is said to have entered Canada last week, but declined to disclose it, the Times reported.

He could have arrived with fake or no I.D. and declared refugee status. Our Supreme Court ruled some years ago that once he does that he basically enjoys all the protections of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. In many cases simply sent on their way from the airport. I suppose they could detain him if they knew who he was and why he was coming but there's little chance he would show up and say "Hi! I'm a airline pilot and I've come to hijack a plane and fly it into the White House!"
Our immigration/refugee policies are unbelievable and a clear threat to both our nations' security. It's maddening.

Ummm........it begs the question: if he's known to be SUCH a bad boy, WHY was he allowed into Canada? You've begged yet another question: how did they know he'd gotten there? Says to me that we've been coordinating with the Canadians on it.
I'd say that they were tracking him, and picked him up when the time was right.
I'd bet that the nice Sudanese pilot made some visits to friends, and there are more arrests underway.
I'd further bet that the Buffalo Al Qaeda cell had something to do with it, given that they were talking about "something big" happening.
