I had my hunting license and moose tag (still do) and we went up the Steese Highway beyond the Arctic Circle, but some Inuit Indians told us the caribou herds were about 4 miles in, and we didn't want to have to haul the meat out that far!

Then replenished our supplies and headed south to Mt. McKinley the day before moose season started.
Nothing within range those two days except for a trophy caribou in my scope sight.

Trailing behind were three hunters, and I knew I could hit it before they got close, but figured they then would have dropped ME - LOL.
Claim it was an 'accident' - and my children were watching.

End of opportunity.

Caribou. You should have taken a photograph of them. I'd rather have a photo than that head hanging on the wall anyhow.
I went and found a photo of one. Beautiful, huh?
