Did you read the article in the WP today about the protests and the efforts to preempt any actions by them? I'm not so sure that their permits should be pulled in anticipation of unlawful action... (the same could be done to us someday by a different administration) I think the best course of action would be to have a big police presence and be ready to swiftly round up (and lock up) any lawbreakers as they move into the streets to block them or take unlawful action on/in Metro, etc. But then I'm not DC police Chief.
My commute to work Friday morning may be eventful, especially when passing certain DC university campuses. I'll hope for the best, but be prepared for all possibilities. If stuff hits the fan, I'll likely be held over at work; my kids know our Plan B and will move accordingly.
By Saturday the worst of the rabble will probably be in jail cooling their heels and refusing to give their names to the cops who book them. And the spokesmen will be outside the jail telling the news crews that those arrested are political prisoners.
