"Americans have been deluded into spouting the Soccer-Momism about Islam being a "religion of peace." Actually, reading would provide dozens upon dozens of contrary examples from the last year alone.

ANN COULTER"

Is Christianity a "religion of peace"? Reading this thread alone would provide dozens upon dozens of contrary examples.

Here's what the "religion of peace" thinks of our tolerance and rule of law (caution, pic may be considered "graphic" by the Ned Flanders of the world):

You are correct that over the centuries, people calling themselves have owned slaves, murdered in the name of god, Engaged in forced conversions, burned heretics, etc.

It is impossible, however, to find support or justification for these crimes in the words or life of Jesus.

"Is Christianity a "religion of peace"?"

Jesus said in Matthew 10:34: "Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword." If you read that entire chapter, it is very enlightening.

The sword in scripture, besides its literal meaning, refers to the word of God.

"And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:17)

"For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.: (Hebrews 4:12)
