YaYa, with all due respect, you are incorrect. The Dole campaign went into high gear on this one...the paid media people were busy and the grass roots volunteers went to work contacting every media outlet in sight, basically raising a fuss.

I was basing my observation on "and The Observer never characterized Dole's proposal as a "gamble." Jennie Buckner, editor of The Charlotte Observer called the ad "misleading."

I don't think I've ever heard of a newspaper characterizing a political ad as "misleading".
