Was the work being done by someone of Mexican decent? Not to be argumentative, but that piece of paper might make you feel better, but it solves nothing.

Agreed, and it also does not leave you any recourse. You can't sue the contractor; because the contractor will just claim they did not know he was illegal.

That's exactly why the INS does not go after these contractors and businesses.

The illegal showed counterfeit docs and the contractor is not an expert in counterfeit docs, so how can he be held responsible for not knowing the docs were counterfeit.

I agree and disagree, yes its very hard to tell a counterfeit document, but by the same token its not very hard to see if the SSN is real and who it belongs to. If this company did not do at least this little step, they are responsible and should be taken to task for it.

Exactly right MI. The open borders lobby appears to be working around the clock to "Bork" Tancredo into irrelevancy. This whole story is a contrived childish smear to attempt to silence one of the few members of Congress that has the courage to stand up against illegal immigration and the business interests that support it. That's what happens when someone goes against the status quo in this country today.

Clintonism is alive and well in certain quarters of our political establishment.
