I was waiting for someone to mention the lawyers. It will be interesting to note whether the lies from these lawyers continue in court. That story of the defendent crying and stating that he loves America is totally bizarre.

Indeed, bizarre that he was given credence...if he loved this country so much what the hell was doing in Afghanistan for a three-week love fest with 'the Most Wanted One' whose sole aim in life is attacking the U.S. of A.?

That reminds me of a Sopranos episode from the second season in which Anthony Junior is at his confirmation party talking with Big Pussy Bonpensiero. Anthony Jr. expresses his doubts about life and about his father. Big Pussy then launches into a speech about how Tony Soprano is the best friend he's ever had and how great a man he is. While Pussy is delivering this speech he is wearing a wire, and we see the FBI guys listening to every word in the van across the street. At the end of the episode, the last thing we see is Pussy sitting by himself in the bathroom sobbing uncontrollably.
