Please Don't Vote!

On This Election Day

Uncle Sam Wants You

to not vote

IF YOU ARE THINKING OF VOTING BECAUSE SOMEBODY TOLD YOU YOU SHOULD VOTE, THEN PLEASE DON'T VOTE

You may have seen a so-called public service announcement begging you to vote

but

If you need to be told to vote, then you shouldn't be voting.

First, You probably haven't paid attention to the issues

Second, You will probably  be voting selfishly, trying to get something for free, not caring about who has to work harder to pay for it

Or you will be convinced that your problems are caused by successful groups not sharing what they have with you

You will be fooled by charlatans who are counting on your ignorance of how things work in free enterprise  Republics

Chances are, you don't own property and have never tried to run a business

IF YOU ARE UNDER 21, YOU ARE ABLE TO VOTE BECAUSE THE VOTING AGE WAS LOWERED DURING THE NIXON ADMINISTRATION. THIS WAS A MISTAKE. THERE IS NO GOOD REASON FOR PEOPLE UNDER 21 TO BE VOTING.

If you are over 21, but have been attending college, please wait 4 years before voting. it will take that long before the harmful effects of college begin to wear off

If you think you might not be able to work the voting machine then maybe you are not ready to help run the country

SOME PEOPLE CLAIM THAT ITS BETTER FOR THE COUNTRY WHEN MORE PEOPLE VOTE. BUT THEY CAN'T GIVE ANY REASONS WHY. the only possible reason is that they are trying to expand government. the ignorant masses tend to vote for more government

IF YOU ARE ILLITERATE , I HOPE SOMEONE IS READING THIS TO YOU AND CONVINCING YOU NOT TO VOTE. WHAT POSSIBLE GOOD COULD YOU DO FOR THE COUNTRY BY VOTING?

if during the last presidential election, you weren't sure about your candidate until he kissed his wife at the convention, please don't vote!

if you vote based on how compassionate the candidate is , please don't vote!

So, if you  are only voting because someone convinced you to do it or you feel guilty about not voting:

PLEASE DON'T VOTE!

This is presented as a public service

by Rick  of Clarendon Hills Illinois

IT IS ESPECIALLY  IMPORTANT THAT YOU NOT VOTE IF YOU ARE THINKING OF VOTING BECAUSE OF MTV'S ROCK THE VOTE OR RAP THE VOTE...I KNOW THIS IS A NO-BRAINER, BUT JUST IN CASE....

Ha! True enough.

The driver behind the "vote regardless of whom you vote for" rhetoric is the desire, on the part of Those Who Grease The Gears Of Government With The Very Best Butter, to avert the appearance that the "issues" over which most elections are fought are irrelevant to the majority of Americans.

It wasn't always that way. In the 1896 Presidential election, the turnout approached 90% -- with no mass media flogging the electorate to vote out of a sense of civic duty. The candidates talked about principles and the Constitution, about the necessary actions of and limits on government. John Q. Public's eyes did not glaze over when they spoke.

Political nostalgia is the worst kind. Sigh.

I disagree with almost every point of this guy's elitist ideas. I don't buy the concept of some votes counting for more than others. Under the current system, the ballot box doesn't care about nor does it measure the "intelligence" behind somebody's vote (with well-publicized exceptions in certain Florida counties). When it comes to the final numbers, a vote from a stupid man carries no less significance than a vote from intelligent, politically-active folk.

Simple truth: If I don't garner enough votes, then I have zero chance of achieving real change in elected office. I welcome any votes I can get, and will do everything legally in my power to get as many votes as I can, no matter their source.
