Amazing, a secession article which doesn't blame Lincoln for every ill under the sun.

One of the biggest tragedies that ever befell this nation was the assassination of Lincoln. You don't have to "love" him to say that. His death left the radical deconstructors unchecked, to trample the Constitution. All Lincoln wanted (at the end of the war) was a re-union on the same terms, except no slavery. The Southern States quickly ratified the 13th Amendment (less than 8 mo. after the surrender). But Reconstruction and military rule lasted longer than the war itself. Lincoln would have put a stop to their tyranny.

Good holy Christ, something we agree on. Lincoln laid out his conditions for reconcilliation months before his death and by the fall of 1865 I believe all the southern states had met those conditions. I don't believe that the southern Black Codes were justifiable but I also don't believe that Radical Reconstruction was a prudent response to that legislation. It should have been handled through the courts.

Not bad for a liberal wipe, huh?
