Bush ordered arrests of suspects

President George W. Bush ordered the weekend arrests of five alleged members of a Lackawanna "sleeper cell" who are suspected of having ties to the al-Qaida terrorist network, sources familiar with the investigation said Sunday.

The president, after briefings from the FBI and Justice Department, told agents to move ahead with the arrests because of fears that the five Lackawanna men - or others associated with them - might soon be called to action by al-Qaida network, the sources said. [snip]

Well, yeah, but I'm going to say that's basically a coincidence. Pendleton, NY, where McVeigh's family is from, and Lackawanna may both be near Buffalo, but they're about a million light-years away from each other in terms of culture ;)
