Recent outbreaks of West Nile virus that have killed more than 30 Americans and infected another 675 have been traced to birds that may have been infected at Cuban bioweapons labs, according to defecting scientists who report Fidel Castro's experiments using animals as carriers of weaponized germ agents.

Carlos Wotzkow, a leading Cuban ornithologist who defected in 1999, says that Castro's "Biological Front, which coordinates military and scientific research, was extended to the Institute of Zoology in 1991 to develop ways of spreading infectious diseases, including encephalitis and leptospirosis, through implantations in migratory birds." And how do they propose to keep that from biting them right back?

Yet, despite the reports of Cuba's biowarfare activities and possible involvement in the Sept. 11 attacks [see "Fidel May Be Part of Terror Campaign," Dec. 3, 2001], Castro never has been named as a "person of interest" in the FBI's anthrax investigations, which instead have focused on Stephen Hatfill, a white, Rhodesian-born U.S. Army scientist who more closely fits the profile of a politically correct villain. A former FBI deputy director told CNN on Aug. 25 that he was perplexed as to why the bureau had failed seriously to investigate a "foreign source" for the anthrax mailings to leading politicians and the media. U.S. investigators appear to be overlooking two Cuban DGI deep-cover agents indicted in Florida on Aug. 4, 2001, who told the FBI that they had obtained jobs in the U.S. Postal Service on instructions from Havana, which wanted studies of post-office security, through which the deadly anthrax letters moved to kill Americans.

And how do they propose to keep that from biting them right back? I've also wondered how bioweapons plants in enemy nations can be destroyed.
If we bomb them, doesn't that just disperse the diseases?

If this is true(and who but Carter doubts it is) Cuba needs to be next. In fact, we should "warm up" on Castro before hitting Sodomy Insane and his merry lot of diapered murderers.
This needs to hit the media hard. We need to see Dasshole defending Castro on TV. It's time to clean house on planet Earth.

Consuming them in an inferno would seem to be the only safe way to go.

(I mean the bioweapons plants. Not the whole of Cuba, tempting as that may seem.)

And how do they propose to keep that from biting them right back? There's definitely a kind of insanity at work here. Castro's saying, "If you try to depose me, I'll release this stuff and I'll die, lots of my people will die, and lots of your people will die, too. Is it worth it, Yankee?"
Meantime, he's free to release it anytime he sees fit, and without provocation, just because he's a vicious SOB who's getting old and depressed that his reign as supreme leader is coming to an end.
We've gotta remove him at the first opportunity, imho.

(I mean the bioweapons plants. Not the whole of Cuba, tempting as that may seem.) TigersEye and I were talking about this...how do our own bioweapons faciltities destroy these diseases? Tiger postulated that it was a cleansing by fire, over and over again, at great temperature. I wonder if the heat of one bomb blast, even a big one, short of a nuke, could destroy every spore?

It's time to clean house on planet Earth. I'm with you, buddy. Now's the time when we're the world's only true superpower. We could set SO much right, and have peace for a thousand years.
(btw, I grew up in Hutchinson, homes! :-)

We've gotta remove him at the first opportunity, imho. While I agree that the leaders themselves, Castro and Saddam among others, need to be removed, because of the Clinton Legacy, we have few (if any) operatives in position for an inside job. It takes time to maneuver into such positions.

Could "leaky" Leahy be right on the source of West Nile Virus, strange as it may seem?

Wull, he ain't called
"Leaky Leahy" for nuthin.
My guess is that discussions along these lines are going on behind closed doors on Capital Hill, and have been for some time. Any hard information pointing to such a biological attack could, however, lead to panic in the populace, and would therefore be kept back or downplayed.
