Lots of truth in here, Pokey, whether we like it or not.

Maybe so, but he has always bee dead wrong about this:
Four months ago, I wrote that if war with Iraq isn't under way by the first anniversary of Sept. 11, George W. Bush might as well nickname himself President Juan Term. Since then, the evaporation of the Bush presidency has only accelerated.
Only Steyn predicted that we'd be liberating Iraq by 9/11/02. And the day he printed that I thought he was dead wrong.
Now who knows what is going on in Kurdish Iraq with Special Forces. Technically, we may have already started. But there was no way that we'd have tanks and troops on the outskirts of Baghdad by now. Logistics & weather conditions dictated that, even if the will was there.

Lots of truth in here, Pokey, whether we like it or not. Thank you, Howlin. (He's a loveable guy, sure, but his strengths are also his weaknesses I think.)

I want to tell you, Howlin, I have to agree. I'm typically referred to a BushBot (I'm from Midland, and my mother-in-law is friendly with both George W. and his mother, so there! I'm allowed. ;-)) but the President, as honorable as he may be (and is), has wasted his political capital. He's been tough in the international arena, but too much of a "nice guy" (I won't use the "w" word) here at home. We needed him to stand up and fight, to make waves-at least more than he was willing to do.

Yes, I agree. The GWB camp needs to hear the bad news in order to make some good news. The Prez needs to get away from the wishy-washy, NYT sycophantic, moral-relativist Colin Powell types to regain some philosophical clarity here, and fast.
