Hillary: Monica Missiles Not 'Wag the Dog'

New York Sen. Hillary Clinton said Sunday that critics who complained that her husband "wagged the dog" four years ago when he launched 70 cruise missiles at targets linked to Osama bin Laden were "dead wrong," even though the attacks coincided precisely with the day Monica Lewinsky testified before the Sexgate grand jury.

During her appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press," host Tim Russert asked Mrs. Clinton about the Monica missile critics, saying, "As you well remember, in 1998, when President Clinton launched some missiles into Afghanistan, people suggested that he was wagging the dog, trying to cover up the impeachment investigation."

"And they were dead wrong," the ex-first lady shot back indignantly.

"And, you know, it was heartbreaking because, you know, you saw how politics could undermine what was a legitimate effort to try to take out Osama bin Laden," she complained.

"There was intelligence about where he was going to be at a certain time," Sen. Clinton insisted. "The missiles had a window to be launched. We were able to take out apparently, according to reports, some of the training camp people, but not him."

Clinton then criticized the Monica missile allegation as beyond the pale.

"You know, I don't know of any president - and I think I can say this without regard to party or any other consideration - who would knowingly do something for political reasons that is that serious," she argued.

But in remarks moments before the top Democrat suggested that some in the Bush administration might be wagging the dog with the war on terrorism.

"Well, there may be some in the administration who are trying to do that," she said, when asked about charges by Clinton operative James Carville that Bush advisors Karl Rove and Andrew Card were politicizing the war effort.

Moments later she revisited the allegation, telling Russert, "What I hope doesn't happen is that anyone around any president or anyone supporting any president tries to make political hay out of such a serious issue."

Clinton warned that if the Bush White House was found to be "wagging the dog" in the war on terror, the president would pay a price at the polls.

"I would just say that, you know, things have a funny way of working out," she predicted.

"And if there is a hint of this being a political issue as opposed to what it should be, an issue of the utmost importance to our national security - you know, I've concluded over many years the American voter is pretty smart, and they can smell it, they can see it and they will act on it."

The old hag doesn't have Bubba's talent for lying without blinking. Hopefully, that will be her downfall.

What she really meant to say:

"And, you know, it was heartbreaking because, you know, you saw how politics could undermine what was a legitimate effort to try to take out Osama bin Laden to eat," she complained.

Paul Atreides: "Someone really needs to speak to her about the pantsuit."

HILLARY: "I've concluded over many years the American voter is pretty smart, and they can smell it."

[Some thought this meant Hillary would finally peel off Ol' Crusty.]

HILLARY: ""And they were dead wrong," the ex-first lady shot back indignantly.

[The original wag the dog smelled funny, and as for Das Hundin von Buchenvald's denial, you know.]

Hill seems to have forgotten that the US Government (that's us taxpayers) paid damages to the owners of the aspirin factory in Sudan that was also bombed in Monica's War. Seems like there was no proof of anything other than aspirin being manufactured there and the US had to pay the claim. I'm sure there were some very innocent casualties of that raid too. Bill likely has blood innocent on his hands just like Monica had semen on her dress.

I would hope, "I'm melting, I'm melting!". But, that is too much to ask, I guess.

She’s a vulgar little maggot. She’s pathetic! A worthless bag of filth. She’s a canker. A sore that won't go away. She’s a fiend and a coward. She’s degenerate, noxious and depraved. I feel debased just for knowing she exists. I despise everything about her. She’s a aberrant caricature of a coprophagic cloacal parasitic pond scum and I wish she would go away.

She’s a putrescence mass, a walking vomit. She’s a spineless little worm deserving nothing but the profoundest contempt. She’s a jerk, a cad, a weasel. Her life is a monument to stupidity.

She’s a bleating fool, a curdled staggering mutant dwarf smeared richly with the effluvia and offal accompanying her alleged birth into this world.

Meaningful to nobody, abandoned by the puke-drooling, giggling beasts who sired her and then killed themselves in recognition of what they had done.

I will never get over the embarrassment of belonging to the same species as her. She’s a monster, an ogre, a malformity. I barf at the very thought of her. She’s vile, worthless, less than nothing.

She’s snail-skulled little weasel. Would that a hawk picked her up, drive its beak into her brain, and upon finding it rancid set her loose to fly briefly before spattering the ocean rocks with the frothy pink shame of her ignoble blood. She’s foul and disgusting. She’s a waste of flesh. She’s ridiculous and obnoxious. She’s the moral equivalent of a leech. On a good day she’s a half-wit. She reminds me of drool. She’s deficient in all that lends character. She’s dank and filthy. She’s the source of all unpleasantness. She spreads misery and sorrow wherever she goes.

She has even changed her voice

I've noticed that, too! She must have hired a voice coach, sounds much more modulated, less screechy, and more feminine...the scary thing is...my conservative and smart Mom told me a few days ago that she was "impressed" with Hillary (after watching her on Larry King) !! Arrrgh !!!

Obviously, Hillary is serious about running - now it's TIME to let the media know she has NO chance! OR SHE'S TOAST! They tried this with Bill on 60's minutes in 1992, but this time Hillary is going to be skewered. The American Public is not as stupid regarding the Clintons this time around. They were unknown to most people in the early 90's. The Democrats better know that we/I will lie down my life to not elect this person.

Furthermore - regarding enemies of this nation - is it a coincidence that the ISLAM movement has infiltrated the RADICAL LEFT - such as the African Americans?

I think African Americans need to decide whose side they are on: are they Americans or African-American?

Who do hyphenated-Americans support?

BARF BARF HEAVE HURL LAY DOWN AND PUKE INTO THE STREET BARF ALERT

Clinton warned that if the Bush White House was found to be "wagging the dog" in the war on terror, the president would pay a price at the polls.

OH HILLARY, WHERE IS THE DOG THAT YOU'RE ALLEGING BUSH NEEDS TO WAG?

Dear God in heaven, why was hillary born with a mouth?

I detest monstrous lies and those who speak them, especially to gain political power.

Who do hyphenated-Americans support?

Whoever provides them with biggest windfall.

I remember listening to Rush, years ago, in a discussion about the Clintons. This was during the first term, and a lady from Arkansas called and told Rush that she had lived all through Bubba's Arkansas career, so she knew what he was like. She said something to the effect that if the Republicans did not get serious, the Clintons would be in there another four years. If things aren't taken seriously about Hillary, look for four/eight years of her.
