I hate to be one of the bad guys here, but I don't equate caving in to the seductions of a late teen with child abuse.
It certainly was a stupid career move, and something that real men figure out how to turn down (admit it, it takes mettle for a 50 year old guy to turn down a gimme with a cute 19 year old). Some guys have honor and can deal with that situation well, and others don't.
This guy obviously didn't have it, but that doesn't vitiate his message on child abuse, nor does this case make him a hypocrite.

I don't think the article is very clear about the "inappropriate sexual conduct" that was committed. Maybe the Tribune just doesn't want to elaborate out of modesty.

It has been rumored that Greene used to seduce young interns. It's very bad for business. But I guess Greene's
clout does'nt cut it. His column has been fading for many years.Why the Tribune kept him so long is a mystery.
