Words from various posters on this thread to describe Mrs. Stone: American Patriot!, great American, very sincere, very credible, honest and well meaning, patriotic American, courage, calm collected and credible, completely credible, good ole southern girl.,

Now the facts:

1. It was reported that the three men blew through a tollbooth. (turns out to be false).

2. It was reported that the men were Jordanian, Pakastani, Egeptian, etc. (turns out they are Americans. Two of them born here).

3. It was reported the dogs detected explosives in their car. (No explosives).

4. It was reported that they were uncooperative. (nor the authorities say they were cooperative.

5. They had illegal plates on the car. (Turns out to be false).

6. It was a hoax. (Authorities are backing off this as well).

What will be the next "fact" to fall by the wayside? Based on the above, isn't at least worth considering that there is even a tiny possibility that a mistake was made? Or is it just too much fun to attack people?

I will take a wait and see posture as to these three, however, the "facts" are slipping away one by one.

6. It was a hoax. (Authorities are backing off this as well).

Not true. Authorities may not file formal charges, but, if Eunice Stone is telling the truth, then it's a hoax.

Let's put these young men in front of a jury, and put Eunice Stone in front of a jury.

Just who do you think those 12 people are going to believe?

Those aren't the facts at all.

In the light most favorable to the 3 guys,

1. the first car DID go through the toll booth without paying. It was only after the cop car pulled out to chase that the other car stopped to pay.

2. THe "heritage" of the men was correctly reported.
All are of Arab descent and Muslim. One is a Jordanian Palestinian, now a naturalised US citizen. That doesn't change his background. One was born here, but educated out of the US and of Arab descent. THe other was not born in the US either.

3.The dogs alerted, and that is true. It is not false. They may have alerted on nitrates in the medical kit, Nitrates are chemicals used in explosive weapons.

4. Cooperative would have been allowing a search and providing all information asked for. That didn't happen, by the admission of one of the guys.

5.The plates were not properly transferred, and the plates did not match public records of the model of the car they went with.

It was no mistake to stop these guys and hold them till their identities could be verified, their itinerary checked out, and their story about the plates could be checked out.

Eunice IS credible. That's just the way it is.

Nothing about her account or demeanor rings false. Even when she reported the conversation she allowed considedering the possibility they were "playing her".

She could have said they SAID they had explosives. She could have SAID they said "do we have enough to blow it up". A liar who wanted to get the guys in trouble WOULD have said that istead of reporting the observations she reported. She heard ambigous statements, and reported them just like that to the police.

I'm glad you have such a good handle on the facts, since you have no better access to information than anyone else here. I hope you don't mind if, I dispute your claim to be the arbiter of facts.

According to the three guys, the second car paid for the first. I've been through 100's of tolls and each car pays its own toll. The first car did blow past the toll as reported.

They refused consent for the search. Hence they were uncooperative.

What will be the next "fact" to fall by the wayside? Based on the above, isn't at least worth considering that there is even a tiny possibility that a mistake was made?

Very few of the facts are falling by the wayside. No mistake was made. An excellent tip was phoned in and the authorities followed up on it. The three students were stupid for joking about a bomb.
