Koffi said members states have the right to defend themselves if attacked.........could that be a veiled threat directed at us........that Iraq has the right to defend it's self.

That's how I interpreted what he said. The US doesn't have the right to attack, and Iraq has the right to defend.

Well, if that is the case, then it would definitely make a good point where the United States can begin to part ways with the UN. It's becoming obvious that the two entities are growing apart.
