Damm - condolences on the appliances melt-down.
On the upside, you should have nice fresh ones in place by now. You were missed. JL

Thank you and we luv you, too, Temple Owl. And we thank you and Mrs. Temple Owl (bottom row 2nd and 3rd from the left), once again, for your service to our country in WWII....

W did great yesterday with all his speeches...He was just awesome in NYC, where he stayed and stayed with the victim's families....
President George W. Bush speaks at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, September 12, 2002. Bush told the U.N. that 'action will be unavoidable' against Iraq, unless the United Nations enforced resolutions requiring Baghdad to disarm. (Win Mcnamee/Reuters)

Good morning and thank you for the awesome firefighters graphic...

I said a prayer of thanks last night when I saw the President give his speech at Ellis Island that the day had passed peacefully and that no harm had come to W...He seemed so exposed yesterday, especially as he walked down that ramp with Mrs. Bush...My heart was in my throat...

Look forward to seeing those links.....
I have had an intermittent cable problem for the last few weeks, actually...Finally called the company and they helped us a lot and now everything is just super...real fast and no "timing out"...I am beginning to think you were wise to not switch to cable...

HUGE flag ping for the unfurling of the largest United States Flag yesterday in Alameda. ......some of you may have seen this thread, but if not, take a look. Grate photos and lots of fun.
This is our very own Syncro holding up the flag with Melanie Morgan from San Francisco's KSFO Hot Talk radio. Click on the photo to go to the thread.

Mornin' y'all. Great graphics and comments already and my day is just beginning.
You were missed, Ms. Daisy. mh, great writings from your journal. Enjoy reading your stuff all over FR.
Billie - wake up! Your coffee is gettin' cold.
Pippin, get to work, but first a hug. :)
I reloaded that MP3 file ru and it's a great way to start out the day. There's an interesting history to a lot of the old hymns. Our church presented an original musical drama a few years ago that told the story of many of them. Maybe I should dig out the video and try to relay the story with some daily installments.
Gotta go serve some breakfast to my little friend.

Some photos and a link to Jim's thread about the memorial service in Clovis yesterday.
"The event was also attended by several of the heroic Firemen and Policemen from NYC, one of whom spoke of the horrific events that they witnessed that terrible morning. There were 403 empty chairs in front of the stage representing the NYC Fire and Policemen who lost their lives on 9/11."

I missed you guys too. I was emotionally drained last night after observing a Day of Rembance and Respect for all those lives lost on 9/11/01. However, this morning I am exhilerated when I realize where we are now as a country.
Here is another special flag....
A flag, with all the names of the victims of the World Trade Center attacks, billows in the wind on a fence of the ground zero site Thursday, Sept. 12, 2002, in New York. The memorials in and around the site, left by family members, friends and the public, have been all but cleared away the day after New York marked the passing of the one year anniversay of the terrorist attacks.
