Jefferson did ask for financial and military help from FRANCE to help us overthrow the Government of King George... the idea that we have no responsibility to do the same for other nations, in light of our own foundations and rebellion against tyranny... seem to indicate that Jefferson would very like have supported our interference in tyrannies that threaten our friends and allies safety.
Jefferson and company ACCEPTED money and military help from France... so the idea of "non interference" was just a concept, not a doctrine per se... where the bullet hits the bone, Jefferson was right in front of the line requesting "please help interfere for us with King George..." alliance with FRANCE... of course that is just my opinion.

Jefferson was a phsyical coward who ran from the only Independence battle that got close to home. He also sought to involve us in the French Revolution---on the side of the Revolutionaries, of course.
Luckily, the man who was President at the time---former General George Washington (who shivered with his men at Valley Forge)--steadfastly refused to sully America's hands.
