You mean where Congress once again abdicated it's Constitutional obligation to issue a formal decalaration of War???It was a declaration of war. You just don't want to look at it like it is: a declaration of war. If it wasn't, then why give the Commander in Chief that power?
The War Powers Act gives the President the power to use the military for 90 days without Congressional approval. So if Bush does it in 90 days, what's the problem?
But like I said, like it or not, it's on.

It was a declaration of war.Hogwash.
Congress hasn't issued a formal declaration of War in over 60 years.
Instead, they come up with political euphemisms from which they can later tap dance a retreat.
Wake-up. Congress is nothing but a bunch of gluttonous lawyers, unwilling to commit to principle for fear of disrupting their taxpayer funded feast.

Reports about meetings between Atta and Iraqi agents were from unnamed sources, and later denied by the CIA. The reports of the parked Boeing 707 were given by the Iraqi National Congress, which has a vested interest in seeing Saddam ousted. Forgive me if I am skeptical.

And from what public information is available, he is not harboring them. They are hiding in the Kurdish region, which he does not control. Why is this so hard for you to grasp?

Wake-up.I'm wide awake, Willie.
Congress is nothing but a bunch of gluttonous lawyers, unwilling to commit to principle for fear of disrupting their taxpayer funded feast.
Then take your bitching to Congress, not President Bush.

Why is this so hard for you to grasp?I'm having no problems whatsoever in "grasping" this. They're there. Iraq is Iraq.
Hussein apologist. My oh my.
Twofer. Got that?
So our troops arrive over there. Will you support them?

Recall: After we crushed Germany and Japan in World War II, both were powerless to reassume their historic roles of containing Russia and China.Gee, I guess that means the Soviet Union won the cold war, since our allies bailed on us.
There is, I believe, a difference between an agressive competetor and an insane one.

Both are fair game on the issue.Do tell. Game recognizes game. Nice try though. Rather transparent, but decent effort.

Do tell. Game recognizes game. Nice try though. Rather transparent, but decent effortWe the People established a Government with three distinct branches: legislative, executive and judicial.
None of these three branches of governmental power is entitled to a free pass.
Your "game" of blame shifting IS recognized and duly noted.

So you would prefer that Saddam control Iraq's oil, Kuwait's oil, and Saudi Arabia's oil. Boy what a foreign policy genius.
BTW Iraq never existed until the Brits created it from nothing. So spare me the pseudo-history.
Buchanan is a bozo and of little political value.

Your "game" of blame shifting IS recognized and duly noted. You're a damned lie. I shifted nothing.
Game recognizes game. You need to work on it a bit, however.

Oh yeah, it was vital that we save the undemocratic Al-Sabah family installed by the British 80 years ago by stealing land from Iraq (had always been part of Iraq)to "create" a new country called Kuwait.Iraq was a creation of the Versailles Treaty. Seems that the Sublime Porte in Constantinople bet on the wrong horse in 1914.
By your statement, Turkey has a 100% enforceable claim on all of Iraq, Kuwait, and most of Saudi Arabia.

I agree with Pat's logic.
I'm not sure I agree that this is a bad thing......
It will cost hundreds of billions and probably many lives.
Is it worth it?

Like the University of South Florida? I see more confirmable evidence against USF than Iraq. I don't cry for Sadam but I still say the evidence is very very thin.

Is it worth it?
History shows that the price tag of doing nothing will be even higher.

Forgive me if I am skeptical. No problem. I question every source and its reletive validity, even that of the CIA. =)
