I saw this in one of the 5 reviews:

I gave this as a gift to my cousin Jessica who is a huge Harry Potter fan. My aunt can't stop thanking me enough. She says Jessica plays with it, pretending to be Hermione, riding it around her room or outside in her yard until she's exhausted. Great gift idea, not just for boys.

As if the Hello Kitty personal massager wasn't bad enough:

These reviews were there about a week ago. It's likely that Amazon found them and got rid of them.

Entirely possible, I agree. But what mother would be so stupid as to say what I quoted previously? LOL

Things that make you go "hmmm".....

Little ones love that vibrating feeling....remember that ball that used to bounce all around the room..can't recall its name. Or the vibrating baby seat that quiets the colicy kid down. However a vibrating toy marketed to 8 and above is really insane.

Vibrating object/teenage daughter ping.

Hey, it's cheaper than a Harley-Davidson.

Wouldn't be the first time that Amazon censored their reviews. There was a long running inside joke on the Family Circus paperbacks list. Some politically charged reviews get junked as well.

I'd at least like some history indicating how many reviews were refused or deleted.

Is there any truth to the rumor that the Clinton Liebrary be selling a personal massager made to resemble a cigar?

Review: I recently bought this for my son, Vantro. He's a HUGE Harry Potter fan. Seen the movie 32 times (in the theaters) and made the paper. This toy gives him the ability to fly around the house zapping things.

Little "Vantro" is spending WAY too much time on his butt in the theater. 32 times? What are his parents thinking?

Wait until he "grows up" and starts crossdressing while going to midnight screenings of Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I didn't see the quoted "reviews" when I clicked on your link to Amazon. You wouldn't be trying to start an internet hoax, would you?

There was a thread about this a couple of weeks ago, and yes, the reviews quoted were there at the time.

Ah! You assume that his parents are thinking. This may be your first mistake.

I've always thought those "detail sanders" with the little triangular pad looked suspicious.

I payed [$] for a broom stick with sounds!?, August 29, 2002

Reviewer: mousera from Toronto, ON Canada
I recently bought this toy for my 10 year old son, I wasn't sure if he thought it through, though. I personally didn't see too much of a flare to it, it just looked like a broomstick...
Personally, it's just a broom stick, don't waste your time.

only for the littler HP fans, April 5, 2002

Reviewer: A toy enthusiast from New York, NY USA
I know it was a stretch to buy this for my seven year old--but he's such a Harry Potter fan I thought he would find it amusing. He thought it was really dumb even before opening the package. My four year old son, though, thinks it's great and he's only starting to learn about Harry Potter.

OK, so a broom is a broom, but..., December 17, 2001

Top 500 Reviewer Reviewer: Bill Peckenpaugh (see more about me) from Silverton, OR USA
I bet the one in the closet doesn't provide sound effects!

My son has enjoyed zooming around, pretending he's flying (and it's important to stress to younger kids that they are only *pretending*, and that brooms can't really fly!), playing Quidditch, and so on. The motion-sensitive sound effects are apparently fun for him, but they do get kind of old. The fact that the broom looks just like the one in the movie doesn't hurt, as far as he's concerned, too.

So, if your kid's a Harry Potter nut, he or she will probably enjoy swooping around on this broom...
