Hmmm. I'd be interested to see what people think. I'd love to have more time off, but I understand that part of the reason America is so economically strong is our hard-working ethic. The rest of the world parties and whines about not having more. We work our butts off and prosper. No mid-afternoon siesta for me. No "holiday" for me. But I'm not complaining, either.

I would prefer to celebrate "VT Day" -- Victory over Terrorism Day. Let's wait until we've completely taken out the trash, and then decide how to observe the whole situation.

I vote "No." We have enough holidays. Besides, those who were killed on 9/11 were either at or on their way to work.

There's no better way to honor them than to do what we normally do.

Was Dec 7, 1941 cause for a natl holiday?

Was the sinking of the USS Maine?

Were the deaths of US Marines in Lebanon
or of Army Rangers in Somalia cause for a
natl holiday?

Americans don't need another holiday. American children need to be in school learning, adults need to be working and we sure as hell don't need to pay the government employees for another holiday. Semper Fi

No. Besides, if it were made a national holiday, we'll probably lose one of the traditional ones to maintain the schedule, like we did with MLK day. One civil rights leader (admittedly a very admirable man) is now worth two nameless presidents. I'm not willing to give up Memorial Day, Labor Day, or Thanksgiving, for Islamo-whackos Crashing into Buildings Day.

Should September 11 be made a national holiday? = Should we give terrorists their own national holiday?

I voted NO. At the place of one's employment, maybe a moment of silence in memory. We need to remember by keeping commerce in motion that day. Stock market open, fed employees working and the great idea of capitalism humming along. Continue doing what we are hated for the most, just to really P.O. the lot of um.

Anything to shut the gubbermint down another full day, is OK by me. I'll have to admit, I get all Federal Holiday's off, but rarely get to actually take off, my disclaimer. Blackbird.
