Thank God; I was beginning to wonder if we could ever hope for an end to the long series of .50 BMG drive-bys and gang killings. < /sarcasm>

Looks like the pie dividers want to make sure that none of the pie makers have any way to dispute the way the pie gets divided.

Damn, you beat me to it!Well, you know, great minds and all that.
I'd love to pick one of these babies up--like the Barrett M82A1. These things have the Schumers, Clintons, et al of Congress terrified!

This is an over kill weapon for the neighborhood. One accidental round going off can go through several homes. There is no need to have this kind of a large caliber HP weapon in a large city.

Yeah .... now tell me how many .50BMG accidental discharges have been going off. There must be a huge rash of crimes with this calibre to warrant such fears.
Quit projecting your fears onto the rest of the citizens.
The riflemen that buy this weapon and spend that amount of money are in all probability going to be the safest gun owners around.
To: Bringbackthedraft
People who buy these aren't using them in the neighborhood. They will simply buy them elswhere.

Ah, yes, the saturday night special of those sniper guns. You're a criminal, aren'tcha? Admit it!

There is no need to have this kind of a large caliber HP weapon in a large city. It's called the Bill of Rights, not the Bill of Needs.

So, people should be barred from owning a *legal product* based solely on their address? Negligent discharges are the furthest thing from the minds of these city councilcritters. On the contrary - they're clearly worried about very deliberate discharges, aimed in their direction.

I cant wait until the ban those awful 22cal sniper rifles too.
