Someone please, for the love of God, explain how Parkinson's affects the brain? Parkinson's dz is a progessive loss of motor function, rigidity, and involuntary continuous tremor - etiology unknown. The main pathologic feature occurs in the dopaine secreting neurons found in the basal ganglia of brain neclei. The mechanisms that lead to abnormal motor affects are also unknown.
Cognitive functions are normal.
