When Jesus prayed for his executioners, they were still alive and had not yet died in a sinful state.

Salvation is for those who have repented of their sins.So contrary to your former assertion you now state that there are those who deserve salvation.
Where did I say that? Salvation is available to those who repent. They still don't deserve it. Perfect justice would require damnation for all sinners. That's why salvation is called a gift, and those who receive it should be eternally grateful.

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name,
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy Will be done,
On earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us,
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Matt. 5:44 " . . . pray for your enemies . . ."
From the mouth of God himself.

"As we forgive those who trespass against us,"Can we forgive them, but STILL shoot them? Hope so. The terrorists need to be cleansed from the earth, and God helps them that help themselves.

Perfect justice would require damnation for all sinners. That's why salvation is called a gift, and those who receive it should be eternally grateful. Let's see if I have this straight - no one deserves salvation, everyone deserves to be damned, except those who get saved and should be eternally grateful. Little joke there in that latter part. Your logic and your theology escape me.

First he refuses to clean his own church of known child molestors, now he expects us to do nice-nice with fanatical Muslim killers.

"He's the Pope. He's practicing Christianity . . ." He's not practicing "true" Christianity. Few Catholics are.
Their religion is full of pagan idolotry, rituals, ceremonies and traditions that are totally unsupported by the old or new testaments. Much of Catholicism is Christian heresy.
I Love them for their strong pro-life stance and charity but the religion is wacked.

Neither can the pope forgive sins. And these guys did not repent so why is he asking for forgiveness?

Aren't you expressing your judgement concerning BlueLancer's soul here? Isn't that what you are telling us not to do concerning the terrorist's souls? Nope. Blue Lancer admitted to having his own value system, having chucked the Christian value system aside. He revealed the state of his own soul.

Shut up before your moronic babbling drives us all crazy. Please!

Sorry, I can't be so forgiving. May they burn in hellThey will.
I agree that the old man is addled. Unfortunately, I believe his successor will be worse.

This was not the sentiment of earlier and healthier ages. The Last Judgment above the mediaeval door showed the lost and the saved as fairly equally divided.Ah, yes. The Medieval age, with its belief in the burning of heretics, was a much healthier age!

May God have mercy ... I sure won't

Judging another man's soul is above your pay grade, tooYep, what God does with them after they are dead is his business. Making them dead is America's business. We have not yet given God near enough work to do in his soul judging business to suit me.
By this time next year, may the lines be long for Islamist terrorist scum, who find out first hand they were nothing more than followers of a cult.

Where in the Bible is this concept of Purgatory taught?
To: Pern
VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Pope John Paul, marking the anniversary of the attacks on U.S. cities, branded terrorism "ferocious inhumanity" but asked for prayers that God would show mercy and forgiveness for the attackers. F%^& all that .... BURN IN HELL terrorists.
