I could accept Israel if it abandoned Jewish exclusivism and welcomed back returning Palestinian Arab refugees as well as Jewish immigrants. However, I will oppose American support of Israel as long as it retains an undemocratic military occupation and discriminates against Palestinian Arabs.

I could accept Israel if it abandoned Jewish exclusivism and welcomed back returning Palestinian Arab refugees as well as Jewish immigrants. I could accept Palestine if it abandoned Arab exclusivism and welcomed back returning Jewish "settlers" as well as Arab "refugees."
Turnabout is fair play, Kudzu.

But I thought the Palestinian Arabs wanted to kill all the Jews? You're right. I guess since they just want to live in harmony with the Israelis they should welcome them in & give them land.

An Israel that accepted any Arab claiming to be a Palestinina would be voted out of existance in 2 years.
Look what the Muslims did to Christian Lebanon!
As for the occupation, i say expell the Arabs to the Arab country in Palestine, The Kingdom of Jordan.

I could accept Israel if it abandoned Jewish exclusivism and welcomed back returning Palestinian Arab refugees as well as Jewish immigrants. Then you're either incredibly naive, or you're transparently hoping for the destruction of Israel from within.
Which is it?
Feel free to explain why you think it's a marvelous idea for Israel to welcome into its land a flood of millions of people who wish to destroy Israel and Jews. That's not to say that all Palestinians do, but there are clearly huge numbers of them who fervently wish it, enough so that a "right of return" would overwhelm Israel like christening a highway for trojan horses.
This is either what you want to happen, or you're so amazingly ignorant of the situation that it's hard to take your pronouncements about "what Israel should do" seriously.

From what I understand the Arab countries discriminate against the Palestinians and consider Palestinians inferior. Doesn't America give more money to the Palestinians than Saudia Arabia? Saudia Arabia is a very rich country. What about all the money Arafat has?Hasn't Arafat been intrusted with funds to help the Palestinians?
Where has that money gone?

How about the Arab countries welcoming back all the Jews they threw out in 1948? Number for number, it was about an even swap. The difference is that Israel absorbed the displaced Jews. The Arab countries made sure the displaced Arabs stayed displaced; hence the Palestinian issue was born and kept alive for the last 54 years.

"I could accept Israel if it abandoned Jewish exclusivism and welcomed back returning Palestinian Arab refugees" Would you then also give equal credence to this statement?:
"I could accept Palestine if it abandoned Palestinian exclusivism and welcomed back returning Jewish and Arab refugees"

You have noticed that Israel has made extraordinary efforts to conclude final status negotiations under Oslo, right, only answered with violence and murder? Apparently not, or you think they should capitulate to murder, and have no right to peace in exchange for land.

So which Arab countries permit the free immigration of Jews, or Palestinians for that matter? Which Arab countries permit Christians to openly practice their religion? In the late 1940's and early 1950's Syria, Iraq, Iran, Jordan and Egypt strip nearly 750,000 Jews of their possessions and forced them out. Most went to Israel as no other counrty was willing to accept them. From 1948 to 1967 Egypt controlled Gaza and Jordan controlled the West Bank. Egypt never offered the Palistinians citizenship and the Jordanians did so on a limited basis. To this day Palestinians are not permitted citizenship in Kuwait or Saudi Arabia. Yet, there are 1,000,000 Israeli-Arabs with full citizenship. Learn the facts before you take a foolish position>
