That is just too funny. I work here in NYC and was just telling my co-worker the same thing, that I would be sure to wear sneakers tomorrow. It's crazy that we have to resort to this.

I park so daggone far from my office, I've been wearing Nikes for a long time to avoid aggravating my plantar fasciitis. I never thought much about it until last Sept. Now, it just seems to be one of those commonsense things to do.

Wasn't Nike 'Winged Victory', and also the name of the short range interceptor missile deployed around various cities in the 50's, including Morristown where there was an accident?
Maybe tomorrow should be Nike Day, after all.
