They do have some evidence of a credible threat. They got a copy of the video tape some terrorist (I forget his name) made of the Washington Monument and Pentagon, as well as bridges.

They're not trying to scare us. Under the circumstances, with all the threats and the anniversary of 9/11, raising the defense level is a sensible precaution.

Unarmed does not mean there are no missles. It simply is a statement of fact. To be fired, the missles have to be "armed". Basically, this is like turning them on.

I am certain that they will be armed when/if there is an identified threat.

True enough, but it appears that the threat may be highest in Southeast Asia, where we closed the embassies in Indonesia, Cambodia, and Malaysia.

Actually, that's not quite true. . . The U.S. does have a UN mission in NYC, and that counts as an embassy.

Ah...that would make me want to puke too. I prefer reading the accounts of the victims and their families. They remind me. Also the WTC pics posted on FR almost every day...come to think of it, why hasn't one been posted on this thread...forget it....people are nervious enough as it is.
