Good heavens, the Muslims aren't barbarians, you can't be married at 6! The CORRECT age a woman can be married is 8 years and 8 months old (Muslims work on a lunar calendar.) THAT makes it all right! </sarcasm off>

I've read recently that the legal age for marriage in Iran is 13. The point of the story was that this was due to recent legislation that raised it from age 9. The original intent of the leglislation as introduced was to raise it to 15, but 13 was the compromise settled upon.
