You weren't even in the country then? - it must have made you really want to get home.

It was a very emotional day. We stayed in Europe until the 8th of October. The one thing that throughly amazed me was the kindness of the people we met in Europe. Needless to say we were glad to get home to the USA.

On 9-9, my ex came and gathered up every TV in the house and took them to her new abode.
On 9-10, I purchased a home entertainment center.
On 9-11, I was in the process of getting it to the house when the tragedy happened.
I didn't have a TV to watch as it unfolded, but that might have been a good thing; I was spared from a lot of the horror everyone else experienced.

Here's the link to the video I have prepared to commemorate that dreadful day:

I want to apologize in advance for not including the other two tragedies that befell us on 9-11, but the video just got too big to load, and I had to delete them. Be assured, I didn't forget them!

DEDICATED TO THE UNYIELDING SPIRIT OF THE PEOPLE OF NEW YORK CITY:

ALIVE, BY THE GRACE OF GOD !

,,, thanx for the ping in post #3 Billie. September 11 actually happened for me on September 12 because of the timezone I'm in. The radio alarm clock goes off each morning at 5,00 for me. I listen to the headlines and start the morning routine. Hearing the desperate narration and replay of some woman giving an account from the streets of NY displaced the normal news, of course. I have low blood pressure, so I take a while to get out of bed - not that morning though. I rushed to one of two TVs that I never watch and stared in total disbelief.

It was termed a "defining moment". I immediately phoned friends in Detroit and offered my deepest sympathy, realising it was much more than a New York thing. In the shower and as I was brushing my teeth, it occured to me it was more than a US thing. It was an attack on the Western world and humanity itself.

I stood on the roof of the WTC in August 1991 and took in the views from JFK thru New Jersey, down to the Verrazano Narrows (spelling?) Bridge and the Statue of Liberty. I was so pleased to have got there and stood in awe of a country that could put up not only one building like this, but twin towers in such an amazing city.

NEVER FORGET.
