Yes. Andrew & Fergie's daughters are Princesses. One is Beatrice, I think the other is Alexandra. Also there is a Prince Michael of Kent who is not even in the line of succession to the throne (because he is Catholic, or married to one) but whose title is still "Prince". He's not one of ERII's sons so I don't know how he comes by the title, but he has it.

I was always under the belief that a prince stayed a prince until his brother took the throne at which point he became a duke.

Why would the mother make a differance when the King has many wives and enough princes to have an Army of princes? First born first, then down the line, that is the tradition of most monarchy's.
