and the Uighars against the Chinese

I think a lot of people have been inappropriately mentioning the Uighurs ever since 9/11. What the heck did we ever do for them? We're behind the power curve on this one - China is the one example where Christian and Muslim interests coincide. And it is the opinion of some circles that it is the Han Chinese converts that are the crazy Muslims - the folks in Eastern Turkistan do not generally lean towards Islamism - that way of thinking is not dominant among Turkic-speaking Muslims.

When the REAL war comes, it would sure be nice to have some Uighurs already groomed to host our A-Teams so we can sabotage the infrastructure of Central and Western China.

Our foreign policy has been effectively designed by Riyadh for more than a decade, particularly under Bush Sr and Clinton. This is why we have tracked, but not interfered with Muslim radicals in our midst.

It certainly seems that way. Bush sr. and Clinton were both Global World Order types. Additionally Clinton was also a closet Marxist, but he only kept that door slightly ajar. It seems real odd to me that the current King of Saudi Arabia would have a Mansion in Europe (Spain ?) that is actually a marble replica of our White House. Have we had a defacto king for the past decade or two ? If the house of Saud was controlling our foriegn policy, why do foriegn Muslims in general hate us ? Is this due to mismanagement from the House of Saud or are they using the US to develop the muslim hate ? That would support the possibility that we are being led to another cold war type standoff between the muslim world and the non-muslim world. The other possibility is that a third party such as China or Russia is throwing some major monkey wrenches into the House of Sauds control. Now that could be possible if the chinese or russians were using the non-Muslim marxist Saddam as the wrench and the extremist islamists as the monkeys.

It is time that all of this comes out. However, the Congressional investigation should not be political as it appears they are attempting to be. The RATS have their own agenda to bury. We want the truth, not the propaganda. I must say I haven't seen an investigation done by any committee in Congress that accomplished that to date.

I entirely sympathize with the Uighars, and agree with your analysis.

Many of the Chinese Turks were being trained and supported by Bin Ladin and his training camps. So an unfortunate fallout from our attack on him, and his previous attacks on us, is that we have had to close their training bases, and have temporarily thrown them over the side.

We most sincerely wanted the Chinese to stay out of our way as we were building up for the assault on the Taliban (remember the early, untrue, rumors that the Chinese were getting ready to attack us?). So we have cut the Uighars loose. At least publicly. I hope we can find a way to resume our support for them, as I agree that post Saddam, our next problem will be China.

And if the Chinese get snotty with us, we should certainly like to be in position to support the Chinese Turks in their fight for independence. And, heck, the Tibetans too.

Which, as an aside, I have been suggesting its time to pull out of Germany, and forward base our forces in Central Asia. Best to keep them close to where we are going to need them.

He was also, sources tell NEWSWEEK, a “tested” undercover “asset” who had been working closely with the FBI office in San Diego on terrorism cases related to Hamas.

In plain English, this means he was a paid snitch. Without snitches, The Feebleminded Bureau of Ineptitude would never be able to make an arrest. The trouble with paid snitches is that they want the money without endangering themselves. This one sat on what he knew until after the deed was done.

The snitch is probably also a member in good standing of Hamas. The FBI should be disbanded. What a bunch of dimbulbs. They will be trying to run some sort of bigtime sting and they fumble around and let the crime go down in order to grab one player while the rest skate away clean. They all need to be working as square badge Mall Security guards.

"In 1991, the Sheik came to America on that B-2 visa. He strolled right through Customs, at JFK, unscathed. (Again, this happened at a time when he was on the State Department's Terrorist Watch List.) He was then chauffeured to a mosque in New Jersey, and began writing sermons for delivery in mosques in New Jersey and Brooklyn. Within a few days, the mosque applied for a Green Card for the Sheik, as a "Minister of Religion."

Sheik Omar's sermons were diatribes, replete with fiery references to "Satan America" and "The American Whore." Americans were "infidels," and Allah had decreed that all infidels should be put to death unless they converted to Islam. Omar was plying his craft well. He was stirring up an Islamic jihad -- a holy war -- against America.

While Omar was inciting his followers to terrorize Americans, a young engineer named Ehmad Salem, was welcomed into the Sheik's inner circle. Unbeknownst to Omar, Salem was an informant for the FBI. Salem reported to his handlers that there were several "cells" of mujahideen, who were ready to blow up landmarks in and around New York City. Among the known targets were the Holland Tunnel, the Statue of Liberty, the New York Stock Exchange, and the World Trade Center. In December 1992, shortly after Sheik Omar's Green Card was approved, Salem warned the FBI that one of the terrorist cells was going to attack one of the chosen targets in early 1993.

On February 26, 1993, a bomb exploded in the parking garage beneath the World Trade Center. Despite having been forewarned, the FBI apparently couldn't prevent the attack. Sheik Omar was convicted of seditious conspiracy in 1995, and sentenced to life in prison. (Maybe the Sheik was just destined to become a permanent U.S. resident one way or the other.)

That's rich. The FBIncompetent in charge refused to let the snitch substitute an inert ingredient in all the bomb making chemicals the informant was providing for the terrs. They then f&^%ed around and let the van get away from them on the day of the bombing, knowing full well that te WTC was the target. Every damn one of them involved with that "sting" should be in prison.
