If the Republicans gain back the Senate, will "jumpin" Jim Jeffords try to return to the fold?
I'd love to see him to try.

CHM--Me too. I feel like spitting everytime I hear Jefford's name. What an *sshole--not just for control of the Senate reasons, but the betrayal of his party line constituents.
Coop-ping for a nice little article/summary...

Absolutely not. He entered the land of no return. Next stop= Firing Squad.

If the Republicans gain back the Senate, will "jumpin" Jim Jeffords try to return to the fold? They could install him as Chairman of the Coatroom, a very hands-on job of hanging up and retrieving the Republican member's coats.

If the Republicans gain back the Senate, will "jumpin" Jim Jeffords try to return to the fold?Any Senator or Congressman can change parties simply by standing up and saying "As of this moment [or any date X in the future], I will be a member of the X Party." So if he wants to come back, we can't stop him. But as far the RNC and the Republican leadership in Congress ever supporting him again in the slightest ... well, he'd have to have something awfully good to offer them before they'd really take him back under their wing.

If the Republicans gain back the Senate, will "jumpin" Jim Jeffords try to return to the fold?I think it;s going to be worse than that. I think we are going to see a couple of RINO's jump to the Dem side. McCain for one, then one or two more to give the Senate back to the Dark Side.
So much for the Big Tent theory.

We need a two seat lead in the senate. If it was a one seat lead Jeffords would jump again this time to the Democratic Party. We would still have to worry about Lincoln Chaffe who might be bribed into switching parties.
