Sept. 7 Seeking to build a case Saturday that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was developing weapons of mass destruction, President Bush cited a satellite photograph and a report by the U.N. atomic energy agency as evidence of Iraqs impending rearmament. But in response to a report by NBC News, a senior administration official acknowledged Saturday night that the U.N. report drew no such conclusion, and a spokesman for the U.N. agency said the photograph had been misinterpreted.

Someone has checked their brain at the door but it isn't the president. Surely, no one, not even NBC is stoooopied enough to think the president, THIS PRESIDENT, George W Bush, would misrepesent anything about a subject this important. That is ludicrious. Moreover, he runs a tight ship and no "senior member" of the administration would dare hint much less say such a thing. Consider the source.

Incredible. The implication is the president lied to build justification for a pre-emptive attack on Iraq, and the Bushbots attack the networks. I thought only Clintooniacs checked their brains at the door, but I know better now. Thanks.THANK YOU
4 years ago if POTUS did that there would be a loud denouncation of the lying President..But I guess it depends on the liar

How do you know who is lying? The UN or Bush?

Hussein praised this. Not a good enough reason to put our guys in there.
He DOES finance people who DO this. He also has facilities to TRAIN them.
And Israel is more than capable of taking out their own trash.

I read the article did you? If the White House "acknowledged it then who is the "senior staff member"? Why would the name not be public?
To: claptrap
You must hail from the blue sector of the country as shownon the 2000 election map! Are you using your welfare moneyto pay for internet connectivity? Why would you say that?

Hopefully, whenever we can. One jerk at a time, since the military was wrecked by Slick & co. Iraq is, after all, directly in the middle of the Middle East, and thus is a wonderful strategic point to be in charge of. Plus, taking Iraq will give a good boost to those in Iran who'll happily string up their Ayatollahs if we provide a little help, and will make the Saudi royal family's position VERY precarious. Look at a map, it becomes very clear.
Get over the Buchanan-esque isolationism, man. Until the Mideast is reordered OUT of its current medieval, fanatic ways, MORE scenes like that photo will occur. The sooner it's done, the better. We CAN do it, and we SHOULD. No, it won't be easy OR cheap, but few worthwhile, beneficial things are. Witness the Cold War and WWII.
One more time. I don't think it has sunk in enough yet:
NEVER FORGET!!!
