1. Will there be a 'better' time in the future?

2. Because my president, who sees all the classified information, says we need to do it now.

3. I trust my president.

Right you are! Why wait until the cancer has spread to your entire body before you take the measures to destroy it?

Of course they really did throw those babies out of the incubators too. The only thing more scary than this propaganda is that people are falling for it.

Hussein suck-ups are a dime a dozen.

Well, you just sit this one out then, sweetcakes, because Hussein is going down!

This doesn't surprise me at all. I've seen claims that Iraq has controlled al-Qaeda since 1998. The former head of Pakistan's nuclear program was reported to be a jihadist who made frequent trips into al-Qaeda territory in Afghanistan.

If you've ever browsed sites like http://www.al-bab.com, then you know that Baghdad's airport has been a very busy hub over the last few years.

I don't know where Hussein got all the things that he needed, but he certainly hasn't been hurting for trading partners.

Frankly, I find it a miracle that he's only 6 months away--if that is even accurate...

Darn!

I missed the press conference?

Thanks for your reporting! And good for President Bush for cutting thru the Daschle et al. bullcrappola and stating the 1998 facts!

VERY GOOD, PRESIDENT BUSH!

What is the point of appeasement? Have we learned nothing from history? Do you really believe the Atomic Nuclear Commission, Britain's intelligence community, America's intelligence community, the UN, etc. are all lying about the danger? Do you doubt Saddam's own words to take down the US? You haven't explained why you doubt any of the above.

Let's see: Iraq, Pakistan, India, Israel, Russia, China, probably several former Soviet satellites all have or will have the "bomb"

You forget the US, Britain and France, although France would probably surrender before ever using one. Also whatever happened to South Africa's bomb. They got help from the Israelis.

Fuel-Air-Explosive.

Incinerates chemical, biological, and hopefully components of nuclear weapons before they are dispersed throughout the atmosphere...OUR atmosphere. This is probably why it has taken us so long to advance our attack...supply of such hardware must greatly exceed potential demand for these wonderful, practical, and highly effective weapons. While being offensive tools, they defend the rest of the world from what this monster has concocted in his basement laboratories.

He's dealing with the hope and strong right arm of the free peoples of the planet Earth now...and even if the leaders of so many chicken-$#it countries are making self-important obsticles of themselves right now...until their people get a good, deep gut-wound as we have, and push them into responsible, courageous action for the rest of us, or out of the way...he certainly, clearly knows that we do not wait for cowardly consensus, but always sacrifice ourselves in the front lines, to free the world of murderous opressors...to give the weak and lowly of the world the chance to learn, build, and mend their shamefully ignoble ways.

Oh great... I just checked out the International Atomic Energy Agency website. They look like a bunch of left-wing, anti-American kooks. So in other words, the very people who we would expect to see opposing US action in Iraq are the ones agreeing with us when we claim that Iraq is a problem!

Am I the only person in the world who finds the timing on all this anti-Iraq information just a tad big coincidental?

And am I the only person wondering why the same rules don't apply to North Korea?

As technology advances the day will come when anybody can push a button and "take out" an entire nation. Would we still be rushing to war under those circumstances, or collectively cringing in fear? My guess is under those circumstances the same folks "rushing to war" would be "rushing to brown-nose".

And when that day does come that everyone has this destructive capability, what foundation will we have built for our children and their children?

I've always been pretty hawkish...but not this time around.

CNN: Scott Ritter says he will address the Iraq something (didn't catch name) tomorrow. I know what he'll say. I just don't know why he'll say it.

Despite the new information, Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, D-S.D., told Fox News he remains reluctant to support military action.

I'm sooooo disappointed that tiny tom remains reluctant. NOT.

He's gonna look like the teeny tiny fool that he really is.

Thank the Lord, he'll NEVER be president. Now we just have to assure the same about sinator hillary!

Destroyed before the takeover, I believe.

ATOMIC SCIENCE COMMISSION: IRAQ 6 MONTHS AWAY FROM HAVING NUCLEAR WEAPON!

In a way this greatly comforts me.
I'd presumed that one reason that Dubya was rattling the saber so hard against Sadaam
(for reasons other than Dubya's moral clarity/courage and Sadaam's authentic evil) was that
Dubya had a few "smoking guns" to roll out once the Democrats (and some weasely/confused)
Republican got the debate and evidence thay demanded.
My rather substantial gut told me that Dubya was holding the cards on this deal,
but I was getting sweaty with fear that he might not deliver the goods.

When even Tony Blair goes hawkish along with Dubya, and Jimmy Carter and Noam (sp?) Chomsky
are counseling appeaseament...
the correct course of action is perfectly clear.

They're coming around. Chris Matthew's disdain for Clintoons "obsession" statement was astounding. He recited the facts regarding the lack of action by Clintoon and mocked the choice of the word obsession. Richard Cohen of the NYTime wrote an op ed piece that I saw in the Dallas Morning News. It began with the usual beat around the bush tone. However about 3/4s of the way thru the piece he did say that the Clintoon response to terrorism was LETHARGIC!

Should another shoe drop Dasshole will have trouble finding a weather reporter job in Sioux Falls!!!

Agreed. Appeasement has not worked in the past and it won't work now. Just saw a headline posted in FR that President Bush will give Saddam a chance at inspectors or else. Thought we were past the point of giving another "chance" and hope it doesn't mean what it sounds like.
