I was in Washington, DC on September 11th, and I was planning to finally meet in real life a few people I'd worked with over email and the phone for dinner that evening.

They died at their posts in the Pentagon.

Man, that sucks. Sorry to hear about it.

A few of my former coworkers died in the initial hit. After I left my job at Marsh & McLennan in midtown, part of my group was moved down to the WTC.

Oddly, if I was still working there, that move would have probably prompted me to stay with the company. I thought those buildings were gorgeous, and would have been absolutely thrilled to work there.
