[history]
Sen. Dianne Feinstein took to the Senate floor Thursday to argue that a pre-emptive attack to oust Saddam Hussein would be positively un-American unless President Bush produces evidence linking Hussein to terrorist attacks against the United States.
"America has never been an aggressor nation unless attacked, as we were at Pearl Harbor and on Sept. 11, or our interests and our allies were attacked," Feinstein said. "We have never initiated a major invasion against another nation-state, which leads to the question of whether a pre-emptive war is the morally right, legally right, or the politically right way for the United States to proceed."

I hope they put this to a vote well before election day. Leave the pacifist twisting in the wind. Another comment that Feinswein made was that if we attacked Iraq, the Arab nations would attack Israel and therefore we shouldn't attack. Can you imagine that? I'm sure if the Arab nations attacked Israel it would make the fighting much easier. Can you imagine how quickly Israel would take out Syria? Can you imagine Israeli and American troops fighting together? It would be awesome.

These feckless, hypocritical, spineless Democrats are
hell-bent on destroying this country both from within and without. My God have mercy on them and may the voters of this country kick their sorry asses out of power.

The moderate California DemocratSure.
Let's hope she's put in charge of coralling the Jewish vote for November.

The Demoncrats continue to shoot their mouths off knowing full well Bush (and Blair) is going to present more evidence in the coming weeks. This is nothing but (surprise) the usual pre-election BS that spews forth from the left on a seemingly endless basis. Never mind the damage such reckless talk does to this nation and our allies. Daschle wants to extend the "talks" on giving "permission" on Iraq until past the November elections so the country doesn't rally behind Bush. These morons are so blatantly obvious in their pathetic political ploys that it would be laughable if it wasn't so dangerous.

"they rattled the sabers . . . without explaining why." The problem with everyone on the left is that they aren't being told all the details.
The administration (and rightly so) are not telling, because there are members on that side of the aisle who are afflicted with diarreha of the mouth (right, Senator Leahy?).
You don't play poker by showing your hand to someone who then broadcasts your hand to everyone at the table! The other problem the left has is that they don't know how to handle being told "No." They all sound like petulant children, and they are being goaded into continuing to look like morons by the media. The media is also not used to being told no, and are also taking it badly.
The solution? Either spank them along with telling them "No" again more firmly, or ignoring them (which seems not to be working very well).

"moderate California Democrat"MODERATE!!!???, sheesh. If she's moderate, Hitlery is the sweetest kindest thing on earth. A PIG is still a PIG. And that she is to the core along with the rest of those in the DemocRAT sty.

The Dems have been conspicuously quiet about Iraq up until very recently. If these traitors put their votes where there mouths are and nix the war resolution (if it does indeed goes before congress), it'll be political suicide for them. Another major terrorist attack on our soil is a virtual certainty, and the electorate will be taking out their anger on the traitors/appeasers among our elected officials. Feinstein is a lot of things (and most of them bad), but stupid is not one of them. She'll vote for the resolution.

This bitch is basically saying that Americans (how many) have to die first, before we can remove the mass murdering Iraqi dictator. This bitch is an enemy of America.

I guess this moron never heard of the Mexican War?

she has already said she is only in politics to promote abortion - if it doesn't regard killing babies, we should not be interested in it.

I guess Ms. Feinstein isn't happy unless innocent American lives are being snuffed out. She's one of Saddam's best friends in the world. A traitorous bitch.

Cordsman's remarks are pretty funny. During the Gulf War this "expert" was warning of the death and destruction Sodom's army was going to unleash on our troops in the Mother of All Battles. His expertise was shown to be horsecrap when we sliced through Sodom's army like a knife through butter. But that doesn't stop the pressitutes from quoting him now.

Feinstein is 'against' attacking Iraq now, but she'd be ready to jump on the bandwagon of blaming Bush if we wait around and are attacked again.

Always great to hear from Madam Fineswine, isn't it?

Of course anything can happen in war, but . . .
The greatest threat to our troops in any conflict with Iraq is their being trampled by stampedes of surrendering Iraqi soldiers.

I wonder what Feinstein's position was in 1998 when Daschle was supporting Clinton's (admittedly phantom) desire to use force against Iraq. Sometimes, the Weekly Standard actually comes through.
