This draft's bit too flowery for my taste. I think the opening paragraph should read something like this:

"Hey, George, we're leaving. This document sets out why."

But that's just me--living in New Hampshire tends to make me pretty plain-spoken. Maybe the major documents need to be done up in flowery language so people know they're important. If everyone else approves of your draft, count me in.
