The Headline is misleading.... This is an allegation and I see no hard proof in the story. Although, I have no doubt Iraq was involved.

Let's try to tone down the sensationalism and focus on getting the word out in a responsible way.

This is brilliant support for Bush and his war on Iraq. I'd like to believe that the Bush/Pubbie brain-trust was behind this but to be honest, I think that would overestimate the shrewdness and capability of that crowd. This is exactly the sort of thing that the 'Rats do so well . . . maybe the Pubbies are learning . . .

Nah.

Lawyers seldom break international conspiracies. Hope they have more than this.

Re #4

Somebody is setting the ground work for confiscating Arab oil wealth from state sponsor of terrorism. Since arbitrary confiscation of wealth, even that of terrorism sponsor, could undermine the trust financial institutions operate on, they need some nice legal justifications.

My hope is that this will be used to blow a lot of smoke and noise so that many gov.s in Europe and America will act on terrorism-tainted account in more legally sound way.

I hope these folks win and get their money before any Iraqi debts are paid back to our European "allies".

The "Judge" Andrew Nepolitano, today on FOX, said that these victims' lawsuits can move much faster than government investigations because they aren't handcuffed by civil rights concerns, and that he thought this suit would turn up TONS of evidence, not only on Saddam, but on the whole terror network.

As much as I hate the regimes over there, I agree with you. We should not confiscate anything, and don't need to. Merely stability in the region and the absence of Bin Laden and Saddam would bring oil prices down to the point they would be dirt cheap.

Let's not set precedents we don't want used on us later.

It's easy to underestimate Bush, both because his father was more country-club that most here would like, and because he doesn't carry himself like a rocket scientist. Still, I have yet to see the Dems lay so much as a glancing blow on him aside from the Jeffords switch.

Is Iraq an accessory to 9/11? I believe that to be the case, although I will admit I cannot pin specifics on Iraq. Do I think Saddam is reaching for weapons of mass destruction? Heck yes.
