I was talking in the secular realm of ideas and policies but you made a great point (though I think by mistake). Intellectuals in Islam and the bulk of literate and semi literate people in Islam ruled lands don't! Their ruler is "Allah" and they don't distinguish between earthly "leaders" and heavenly ones. They have no concept of secular western rule.
