Sounds like plain old racism. Mugabe's not taking the rich black farmers' land.
To: <1/1,000,000th%
And he isn't giving it to landless blacks either!! At the moment, he's parceling out tiny small pieces in the form of "leases." This land is going to belong to the STATE ie Mugabe.

I'm not sure why we couldn't send a specialized "hit squad" in there to erase this slimebag before he plunges his county into total ruin.That question has been asked many times over the centuries. Years later, people always ask, "Why didn't somebody do something?"

"More than half of Zimbabwe's 12.5 million people face imminent starvation."
Ah the joys of communism. Mugabee wants to kick out the white farmers and blame the west, fine.
"Let them eat cake"

Unfortunately selective starvation will only allow the wrong 12.5 million to die. Leaving in its place, a submissive and controlled population that the govenment can afford to feed, as long as they toe the line. What to do,...........? Arm the outcast 12.5 with food and weapons? There is a logistical nightmare, let them rot in hell of bob's choosing? Not very compassionate, but certainly an option Raise world opinion against bob and his buds? Before that happens, starvation will have done its job. Write off africa, and see what the results are? That is probably a bad idea from the standpoint of loosing other more developed and peaceful countries in western africa. Maybe this is why I am not a diplomat. Hands off, hands on, overt, covert, financial aid or not, food aid or not. so many choices, so little time.

The BIGGEST question of all:
WHERE THE HELL IS THE INTERNATIONAL KANGAROO KOURT IN ALL THIS? By their own definition, Mugabbe has committed "genocide".
Of course, their thunderous silence speaks VOLUMES!!!!!!!!

I'm betting Bush's team is laying traps for these dictators. These thugs will do anything for their own self interests. They don't operate on principle or an ideology but by what ever it takes to hold on to money, power and influence. People like that can be torked. They remind me of Bill Clinton.

{More sinister is the fact that Gadaafi insisted on calling into conclave Harare's small community of Indian Muslims, telling them that they must assist Mugabe's plans by declaring a jihad (holy war) to throw the whites out.}
Looks like Mugabe is seeking to join up with Al Quieda.
Dubya needs to include Zimbabwe in his list of targets in the War against Terror before the white farmers there get slaughtered.

Developed and Peaceful?????
Who, Nigeria? Ghana? Sierra Leone? Liberia? We wrote this entire continent off with James Earl Carter the Incompetent and we surrendered to the communists with Bush I. Now with Bush II not having any interest in anything but being re-elected, the commies are just going to waltz throughout the world. No, I really don't care. I'm more worried now about defending our southern border at this point than what is happening in Africa. We lose if we feed them, we lose if we don't. Why waste the money? There is negligble economic impact on the U.S. if we do ignore the problem. And besides, we are supposedly at "war", and I haven't heard any of the fat-ass black commies in Africa proper offer us support OTHER than the leaders in Kenya.

Senegalese Loner Works to Build Africa, His Way***"I've never seen a country develop itself through aid or credit," said Mr. Wade, who was trained as an economist in Senegal and at the Sorbonne. "Countries that have developed - in Europe, America, Japan, Asian countries like Taiwan, Korea and Singapore - have all believed in free markets. There is no mystery there. Africa took the wrong road after independence."***
Zimbabwe's sole African critic, Senegalese***Wade, a 76-year-old leader elected in 2000 after more than two decades in opposition, emerged as the only African leader to condemn the vote. Last summer, he stood nearly as alone among African leaders in dismissing the idea of European reparation for past African enslavement - asking if his own family, former slave-holders like many in Africa, should also pay. On Zimbabwe, he said Friday, "For me, my problem is: Did the people of Zimbabwe express their free choice of election? My answer is 'no.'"***
