The New Madrid quakes are a good analog, but those quakes were about 180 years ago. Find some pictures of the 1964 Alaskan quake.

From the web site devoted to the 64 Alaskan earthquake.

Pictures from the 1964 Great Alaskan Earthquake

The 6-story high Four Seasons apartment building in Anchorage was completely destroyed by the 1964 Earthquake.

This house sat right on a fault that opened up.  Note that the trees are tilting in both directions.

The right 1/2 of this school dropped 10-15'. (I guess the left 1/2 of the school could have risen 10-15').  Note how the pipe on the top of the chain link fence is bent upward.

Middleton Island has repeatedly experienced earthquake-induced subsidence, with 5 terraces visible from the last 800 years. The plateau on the right side of this picture is the original beach. The vertical drop due to the 1964 earthquake is 3.6 meters.
