Friday, April 06, 2001 --  Volcano Erupts on Ocean Floor Off Oregon Coast

Mt. St. Helens blew after a swarm of quakes and a 5.1 on May 18, 1980.

At 8:32 Sunday morning, May 18, 1980, Mount St. Helens erupted.

Shaken by an earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale, the north face of this tall symmetrical mountain collapsed in a massive rock debris avalanche. Nearly 150 square miles of forest was blown over or left dead and standing. At the same time a mushroom-shaped column of ash rose thousands of feet skyward and drifted downwind, turning day into night as dark, gray ash fell over eastern Washington and beyond. The eruption lasted 9 hours, but Mount St. Helens and the surrounding landscape were dramatically changed within moments.   Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument

9 is the Biblical number of Finality.  18 is the number of Judgment.

Re 18:6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

Re 18:9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

Re 18:18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!
