The IDF was not in a fooling around mood. When they wanted to occupy a piece of property, they roared up to it with a column of armor.

This is pretty much in line with the article.

This caused some problems with the pencil neck USMC field grades.

If a piece of property was USMC responsibilty, why shouldn't it have caused problems - even to a non pencil neck officer?

Is it that your problem is not the veracity of the article but that it was posted?

I was speaking ironically. The USMC field grades in Beirut were PC clones afraid of their shadows, too afraid of an 'incident' to even permit their "armed" (HA!) jeep patrols through Beirut slums to load mags etc etc etc.

I contrasted that to the then current IDF style of real estate management.
