Forgot to put time in,

I'll restate my bet - March 23, 2003 9:00pm est - just in time to interupt the Academy Award show and make the UN and Hollywood irrelevent.

When hell freezes over. This will go down in history as the watershed moment of the US forever ceding its sovereignty to the UN. Bush is caving to the protestors, UN, media, Democrats, State Dept. doves, etc.
There will be no "war" in Iraq - some sort of world consensus will eventually emerge on how to deal with it half-assedly, and the American public will go back to American Idol and Joe Millionaire.

(Yes, I'm in bad sorts, I thought the game was over, but Bush is groveling for yet another resolution.)

also contributes to lowered morale of our troops who have to maintain a high state of readiness for the attack, and then see opposition rising at home and around the world.
Excellent point, morale in and out of the military must be sagging by now. Way to blow all the momentum, Mr. President.

March 13, 5:55am Bagdad time... I predict 5 days of intensive bombing first. The last ground war was 100 hours, this will be 10 hours due to the overwhelming numbers of frantic surrenders. Biggest problem: stopping brutal civilian paybacks to the butchers. We'll want to spare offices and palaces where atrocities took place so we can gather evidence. The Iraqis will want to burn them to the ground.

Fear not. Things are not always as they appear. The protestors and anti-war folk did not vote for Bush and will never vote for Bush. His constituents--the people who will re-elect him--insist that he follow through with his solemn pledge to protect our national security, which certainly means closing out matters with Iraq. My belief? All the delay has been to complete all in-coutry intelligence and deployments to assure a quick capitulation with minimal allied losses (we will have plenty of allies). Nothing is more important than protecting our soldiers, and great care is being taken to assure this. I promise you this is the reason for delay.

Your words are encouraging, and I thank you. I agree we must be careful to protect as many soldiers' lives as possible while winning. I'm no military expert, but I appreciate and support our fighting fellow Americans. I really am trying to trust that Bush knows what he is doing - the stakes are as high as they've ever been in my lifetime.

My 1 Feb prediction has expired, so I will say 9 March 03 @ 0547 CST. 9 Mar is an important date in our family. Hopefully this date will see the begining of liberation of Iraqi families.

How about we change my guess to March 9th, 2003 at 3:57 AM Baghdad time? I was thinking about going for the ides of March, but I doubt the Administration will delay that long. War is coming, and it's coming soon.

This is right on target.

When Bush made the "game is over" speech... I thought we were going to attack. But since the game really isn't over I'm not inclined to believe much coming out of Washington right now. Certainly the game is NOT over.

March 11, 2003 3:04 am Baghdad time. An overwhelming blitzkrieg. Land, air, sea, electronic, missile, special forces simultaneously attack and deliver more ordinance on target in a matter of hours than during the entire second world war.

My bet for the beginning of the attack is 5Mar03 08:00 PM Bagdag time. The moons position is the time table. It will not be bright, and we will be able to light up Iraq with ordinance, so that defectors can see their way to surrender. We will be able to see them with weapon less raised arms. GoRobo

7:00 PM Eastern Time, Friday February 28th. The moon rises and sets with the sun in Bagdad for a few days before the new moon on March 3rd.

If not that weekend, then probably never.

March 13th 3am Baghdad Time.

New Moon, (13th Unlucky for some,Sadam on this occasion).

After the Blix's verbal report to the UN

A good majority vote with no Vetoes, as Blix's report was overwhelming in Support of the US and its allies, stating Iraq failing to assist in any way and also refusing to destroy missiles.

OK y'all.

March 4th, 2003 (Fat Tuesday / Mardi Gras) Starting at 7am CST (New Orleans time), the bombing/partying will start.

So the next day will be "Ash Wendsday", (in Bagdad literally).
