He is a good propagandist; in some places people fall for it so much that they lit the starting date for the Gulf War as when we got around to doing something, instead of long before, when Iraq invaded Kuwait.

And he and the PLO have managed to conveniently wallpaper over things they did in Kuwait, while drawing sympathy for the plight of the 'poor palestinians' in Kuwait who had worked with the Iraqis, and using that to condemn the country Iraq had invaded. Kind of like blaming the rape victim for attracting the rapist's attention.

And so many countries are more than willing to look the other way and/or find blame with the U.S. because they're jealous of what the American people have accomplished.
