I have always felt that if we (Americans against too much taxes) could band together we might be able to get something done or at least, someone to listen to us. I am so disgusted at sending billions of dollars overseas, mostly to foreign politicians, and us not having a word to say about it. I am tired of working to support the world.

Interesting.....I have to laugh 'cause I go against my accountants' recommendation and DO NOT pay my quarterly estimated income tax on the gub-mint "estimated quarterly pre-pay plan"..........I'm self employed. I figure, why get pissed off 4 times a year. I pay a little bit more because of the accumulated interest and penalty (I don't make much, so I don't pay much!) I just get totally pissed ONCE a year and write a big fat check to GWB's retirement fund (mine's been raided already). I wish ALL Americans had to write one fat check, once a year to pay their dues to the Gub-mint club. Things would change pretty quickly, I imagine.

At the local level... the taxpayer tends to be tight-fisted...At the federal level the taxpayer is least discerning.

Unfortunately, I plead guilty.
Experience has shown that dealing with the Feds is like "shoveling sh_t against the tide". It never comes to much, so why fret?

Years ago I saw a television interview with Milton Friedman where he mentioned that the greatest regret of his life was helping to implement Federal tax withholding during WW II. If memory serves he also said that the original act was self revoking, so that withholding would lapse after the war.

But America's "criminal class" was not for letting this bonanza out of their grasp - and they never will, ever.

"I do feel that if people actually wrote a check in April .... they would demand lower taxes."

Especially if all taxes came due on the same day: Federal Income Tax, State Income Tax, FICA, and Property Tax too. It would total 50% of a year's earnings. Outrageous!
