September and even the first part of October can be dry months in SW and central Oregon.

So the tinder box build up the past decade in all of the forests in Oregon, make all those forests very vulnerable to fires caused by nature or by man.

Good question. They are still backburning in the Kalmiopsis and it is a little smokey today.
