To think they would sit back and let us destroy the Taliban and lose that without any response for nearly a year if they had the abilty to strike back simply defies credibilty. Personally, I hope you are right. However, Iraq agents may still be in control of the WMD on US soil. Which means that they are meant to protect Iraq and Pakistan from counter attacks. AQ may not be the big fish here. Saudi Royals recently claimed that their are no direct links between AQ and the 9/11 terrorists with Saudi Arabian nationality. I am assuming that Pakistan assisted Iraq with the acquisition. Russians are in Hot War right now with Muslims along their southern border regions.
Certainly if they could have nuked a US city they would have.
The Russians could have nuked every major American city over a hundred times, yet they did not. But I agree that fanatical muslims are much more capable of being fanatical.
IMHO we have crippled AQ to the poing that they cannot attack now. No doubt they are trying to re-establish that capibility, but with thousands of suspected Al Qaeda arrested worldwide and many of their top people killed, it won't be easy for them.
Yet we had a terrorist attack recently at LAX. Looks like AQ is but one head of a much larger islamic snake.

"If say, Bin Laden's group blew one up in NY, LA, and Chicago... Iran, Iraq, Libya, Syria would cease to exist as we know it. They know it. They will attack us again, but conventionally. I honestly think they will not trade 50,000 american dead for 10 million muslim dead. It doesn't make strategic sense for them to do it." Do you really think that we would eradicate four Islamic states and 10 million Muslims if they had no known connection to the destruction of NY, LA and Chicago?
In time, Iraq -- or, more precisely, Saddam Hussein -- will be served a full plate of just desserts. But only because there was a direct connection to 9-11. I will be surprised, though, if the Iraqi casualties exceed the 3,000 dead in the U.S.

Ollie North was asked about this just after 9/11. His response was that if bin Laden had these devices, he'd have used them. OBL always plays with the biggest club in his bag. On 9/11, he played his biggest club. If he'd had a nuke that day, he'd have used it instead. The fact that he hasn't used a nuke is a pretty good indication that he doesn't have one. Play that back, using the attack on the USS Cole. "On the day he attacked the USS Cole, he played his biggest club. If he'd planned to use airplanes against buildings THAT DAY, he'd have done that instead. The fact that he hasn't used airplanes against buildings is a pretty good indication that he isn't able to."
I'm not saying that the report is credible, but Ollie's argument against it is weak. Be vigilant. The opposition to conservative freedom is very determined.

Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Libya support the terrorist groups. I could see us giving rough justice to them after a terrorist group acted. NBC weapons take things to a different level. I remember the rage in this country right after 9-11. Granola eaters wanted to bomb the snot out of Afghanistan. If somebody goes nuclear on us, all bets are off.

Only 4000+ dead? Hmmm, I kind of wish that number were a little higher. Lol

NewsMax, if printed, would adorn bird cages, wrap fish, and, unread, clutter the streets.

4000 of the terrorist bastards that is!

I would not oppose that course of action, although I would hope it were only the beginning of the retaliation against Islam for declaring war on us. Well begun, half done, as they say.

Probably another satchel of medical waste.

This photo is a fascinating and compelling study. Silk shirts, buxom Blond and Chaplanesque bodyguard. Any more of these?

I appreciate your consideration. I am no expert in matters nuclear, just pointing out that the naked argument "he hasn't done it yet, therefore he isn't able" is weak.
Without physics details explaining the operation of nuclear devices, the thread is just a bunch of puffery, on both sides.

It's difficult to test a suitcase nuke first, without attracting a lot of attention. And they always need new parts after the test.

Haj is all the time, isn't it?

Bodansky has been saying this for months. And his biography of bin Laden got so many major facts wrong that I have to ask how he got his job as a US Congress "terrorism expert."

According to Christopher Hitchens, those in the know in DC were sending family away last November (or December, don't remember which). There was a real fear that AQ had a nuke in DC.
