Always the first to go in modern war. Take out communications/intel/command posts. Leave 'em blind and guessing. Worked in '91, will always work. I liked Hackworth's assessment too: "In '91, we had 'smart bombs'. Now we have 'genius bombs'". God bless American technology and protect our brave fighting forces....

You guys are right in tune with my thinking.

Great Britain: "We need to go slow. Build a coalition." (behind the scenes: "bombs away")

Bush: "I don't have a plan on my desk." (behind the scenes: "Laura, I used to have a plan for blasting Iraq on my desk. did you see it?")

I think this is exactly the kind of softening up we intended to do, and will continue to do, until one day Saddam realizes he has no air radards in Baghdad, either.
