There's a disconnect here, folks. Much more here than meets the eye. Everything based on this is pure speculation, the sheriff himself, who was the source of the homeschool/public school argument, said the motives for the killings were sketchy at the time of the interview.
I homeschool four children. It is a point of contention between my spouse & me at times -- it is exhausting and there is just about no instant gratification involved. But I would think that the solution would be suicide, not murder -- even on my very worst days, it would never occur to me to kill the kids! This woman is sending her husband a big fat message of some kind, and the school thing has nothing to do with it.
